New Name, Same Content
Just a quick note because it feels weird not to acknowledge this
Dear reader,
If you’ve been around since the 2024 inception of Old Soul Books, thank you.
You’ve endured my sporadic posting schedule, my (probably ill-informed) literary ramblings, and a host of other less-than-ideal tweaks as I’ve stumbled my way into the Substacksphere.
I am truly grateful.
And also rather intent on staying as transparent as possible.
That’s why I want to send you a quick note to acknowledge the name change of this little corner of the internet. The Provincial Library—highly and unequivocally inspired by E.M. Delafield’s Diary of a Provincial Lady—is a more apt (and way less abstract) attempt to describe what exactly it is I’ve set out to portray with both this humble publication and my reading life as a whole.
Essentially, nothing more than the name of this Substack is changing at this point in time: It will still feature a monthly read-along novel. It will still feature book lists. It will still be free.
It will still, primarily, just be me rambling about what I am reading.
I’ve tweaked the About Page just a bit, so if there is a friend (or two!) of yours that would enjoy what The Provincial Library has to offer, please invite them into our literary meanderings.
And again, thank you, thank you for being here! Your comments and suggestions (truly, truly) fuel the continuation of this little publication.
